Kelis is an artist who has never been known to charter the predictable territory of her colleagues. The ‘Milkshake’ singer is still touring and doling out her signature beats but her next move might pleasantly surprise fans.
The singer is taking her culinary skills to the Cooking Channel next month. The special titled “Holiday Feast With Kelis” will air on Dec. 7 at 8 pm and will feature the singer sharing her secrets for a scrumptious holiday feast.
Kelis, whose mother owned a catering business, developed a love for cooking as a youngster and will give viewers a glimpse of some of the staples on her personalized menu.
She is also a certified Le Cordon Bleu chef, which explains her sophisticated palette, as well as what she will be offering on her segment – pernil, a Puerto Rican inspired roasted pork dish, pineapple-saffron turkey with chorizo stuffing and dates with carrot and yam soufflé.
Sounds like an array of deliciousness that will undoubtedly make any holiday party festively memorable. Kelis’s new album “Food” is a jazzy collection that illustrates her longstanding relationship with the culinary world. She also has a cookbook coming out next fall.
