When someone thought it would be a good idea to raise money for the murdering SC cop Michael Slager, GoFundMe immediately rejected their campaign. Slager, who was charged with first degree murder on Tuesday, apparently has fans who were eager to donate to his defense fund, but according to GoFundMe, they weren’t having it.

“After review by our team, the campaign set up for Officer Slager was removed from GoFundMe due to a violation of our Terms and Conditions,” Kelsea Little, GoFundMe’s public relations manager, stated.

GoFundMe didn’t disclose what the fundraiser violated, but Little did state that they can only “discuss the details of campaigns with the organizers.”

So what happens when you’re rejected from GoFundMe? Well apparently IndieGogo is the next option.

The organizer has set up a new page on Indiegogo and a Facebook page. Most of the responses on the Facebook page are negative, but the fund has actually received donations.  When contacted by ThinkProgress as to why they’re allowing the fundraiser, they stated:

“Indiegogo allows anyone, anywhere to fund ideas that matter to them and just like other open platforms — such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter — we don’t judge the content of campaigns as long as they are in compliance with our Terms of Use.”

One has to wonder what type of person is actually donating money to a murderer.
