A makeshift memorial for Michael Brown has been removed, to make way for a permanent plaque the will be installed. After Brown was fatally shot by Darren Wilson on Aug. 9, thousands of people embarked on the site and left candles, flowers and stuffed animals. Now that those items have been removed, they will be stored by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis.

“There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about my son,” said Michael Brown Sr., his father. “We’re just really trying to move forward.”

The new plaque will be installed on Thursday.

i’m proud of the revolution that has started, but i have mixed feelings about a permanent memorial being made for just brown.

  • More people are waking up. I wonder what the permanent memorial will entail in Ferguson. We all send our condolences to the family of Michael Brown. I want the memorial to be excellent.
