Dylann Roof’s roommate says the suspect was planning something for the last 6 months, before he launched his terrorist attack on a South Carolina church.

Dalton Tyler told ABC News that he’d known Roof for at least seven months, and that the 21-year-old was “planning something like that for six months.”

“He was big into segregation and other stuff,” Tyler said. “He said he wanted to start a civil war. He said he was going to do something like that and then kill himself.”

Roof’s uncle,  Carson Cowles, has been the only family member to speak out and says he warned Roof’s mother that her son was too introverted and described him as a “quiet, soft-spoken boy.”

“I said he was like 19 years old, he still didn’t have a job, a driver’s license or anything like that and he just stayed in his room a lot of the time,” Cowles said in a telephone interview with Reuters.

Roof was apprehended on Thursday after a local florist spotted him. Of course Roof was taken in alive.

  • I wonder why didn’t Dalton Tyler report to authorities about Roof’s evil intensions (planning murder for six months is cruel and reprehensible). Obviously, the murderer harbored bigoted, anti-human views. If the roommate reported Roof to the authorities, then lives could have been saved. Tyler didn’t act vigilant and he ought to be investigated too.

I am tired of looking at this smug piece of crap face…ugh. So this thug was basically a loser, not shocking. I agree with those who said the roommate needs to be charge with something, there is no way a sane individual would live with someone who was planning a terrorist attack without alerting the authorities unless they agreed with their mentality, was in on it or didn’t care.
