On Friday the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage across the nation, and America’s Head Gyrator in Chief, Beyoncé, literally did a twirl to celebrate.
With the simple caption, “Never Too Late #LoveWins,” Bey seemed to don all the rainbow gear in her closet to dance a little jig to her hit, “7/11.”
While it’s no secret Beyoncé’s fan base includes a large slice of the LGBT community, wading into politically dicey issues hasn’t always been her cup of tea. But lately, things are changing.
In addition to dancing it up for marriage equality, Bey has also lent her support to the victims of the Charleston church massacre, the people of Baltimore, Ferguson, and Trayvon Martin’s family. Though she hasn’t said much, both Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z have apparently lent their financial support to several social justice causes over the years.
Now if only she’d use her gigantic platform to push for justice and equality, and not just celebrate it. Then, we might really get somewhere.
