Most of the stereotypes about Black women ironically come from Black men.

Video Description:
Black women seem to be the butt of many “jokes” made by Black men that fuels the stereotyping. They are deemed crazy, expensive, ratchet, among others. This is one of the reasons many women don’t want to accept that they are Black, claiming to be “Just Latino” or “Mixed with everything” except Black. The self hatred of Black men is expressed by putting down their women in order to feel more empowered and probably distracted from their own oppression by White America. Ultimately, this problem comes from colorism and Eurocentrism which was created by White supremacy. However, Black men need to be aware of this and not fall victim to this form of self hatred. This is the typical case of the oppressed becoming the oppressors, like the Rwandan genocide. A person being bullied into bullying someone else. White supremacy has Black men putting down their women, Black Latinos fighting American Blacks, Black men putting down Black gays, and other conflicts between people of color. If we do not stop this hate dead in its tracks, we are letting White supremacy do its job as Paul Harvey said (If I Were The Devil- 1965).

*Doing the Patti LaBelle shoulder dance* especially at the line “everybody wants a black girl but nobody really want a black girl.” I don’t know what else to add, Jeffrey Almonte, the readers of Clutch and plenty of other people and sites have been stating this for awhile about the disrespect towards black women especially as of late. It just doesn’t make any sense the amount of hate and venom that comes our way. And for the idiot that posted that meme on his page but made the excuse of “well I didn’t make it” reposting it and laughing at it is just as worse.

  • Nice video, I hope he can make other black men think about their ways, I do believe that turning these negative opinion around starts with black men schooling other black men. Us black women telling them has never worked.

    • Great Point.

No one is going to get a grown man to change how he thinks. Re-education doesn’t work. The key is to start when they are very young and their minds have not been fully formed. Public safety officials in India, where rape appears to be some type of sick recreational activity, have finally accepted this fact and are aiming their efforts at young boys. So much easier to educate a boy than to re-educate a man.

    • “No one is going to get a grown man to change how he thinks.”

I can see what you’re saying, if other black men cant change the way these men think at least they wont be so quick to express these negative views on BW aloud. I’ve seen BM check a another black man for doing so and you’re right most likely he still feels that way but he did shut up about it. So I guess that’s that.

& that’s huge. even racists know when to keep their mouths shut & that’s the least amount of respect they can show. it would go a long way if these dudes just learned to shut it. or realized that not every bm thinks like them so it would be better for them to follow that old saying… if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep that b/s to your damn self b/c the rest of us don’t wanna hear it… or something like that-lol.

    • yep! But I think some of these dudes get a thrill from saying these things aloud. I think they really want to hurt us.
