Residents of Williamsburg, Brooklyn (albeit hipsters) will now have 21 images of Serena Williams to bask their eyes on. The murals are a part of Gatorade’s tribute to the tennis star and will definitely make everyone look twice as they walk down the streets.
“Serena 21” murals will be featured on buildings on Kent Avenue and Grand Street in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The murals were designed by Vault49. Each mural depicts each one of Serena’s 21 Grand Slams.
In addition to the murals, there’s also a new Gatorade commercial chronicling Serena’s career. From the time she was a wee little girl, with beads in her hair, to the powerhouse she is today.
“If you were a tennis player, who would you want to be like?” the interviewer asked.
And her answer?
It’s why she’s the greatest now.
“I’d like other people to be like me,” she stated.
