Are you ready for more of Rev Run’s wisdom? Well, the Run DMC vet has teamed up with his good friend Tyrese to give women advice on love, sex, and relationships in their new OWN talk show, “It’s Not You, It’s Men.”
Here’s how the press release describes the show.
Friends for over seven years, Tyrese and Rev Run pride themselves on their wildly different points of view. Tyrese is a bachelor and single father in search of his dream woman, while Rev Run has been happily married for more than 20 years and is a father of six. Their ideas and opinions on love and commitment almost always clash, and the passionate, hilarious conversation that ensues between the longtime friends is a testament to their unique chemistry. These two unorthodox experts on love and relationships will be joined by a primetime studio audience as well as celebrity guests in a no-holds-barred throw down of love advice.
Each week, the series will feature new celebrity guests and relationship experts offering unique points of view on topics ranging from why you’re still single to what newlyweds should expect after they exchange their vows. And, you can get in on the conversation by taking to social media and asking Tyrese and Rev Run your most intimate questions about men, relationships, marriage and sex.
“It’s Not You, It’s Men” is yet another example of OWN’s pivot to Black viewers who’ve helped turn the network around by flocking to shows like “Welcome to Sweetie Pies,” “Fix My Life,” and “The Haves and the Have Nots.”
While the show looks interesting, Tyrese is no stranger to doling out questionable advice, so it remains to be seen what kind of tips he will give folks about love.
