Better Midler is just like the rest of us, especially on Twitter. She live tweets award shows, freely shares her political views, and she isn’t afraid to crack jokes about the 2016 presidential race.

Wednesday night, the First Wives Club star tuned into the network premiere of Stanley Nelson’s documentary The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution, and like most of America, Midler learned some things about the Black Panthers and tumultuous times that she’d never knew had before, and it left her with a few questions.

Of course Midler’s question brought out the trolls.

Given her outspokenness on Twitter reproductive rights, politics, and climate change, I doubt Midler cares what the trolls have to say on the matter.
