Best-selling author and TV personality Daisy Lewellyn has lost her battle with cancer.
Often called the “Queen of Effortless Chic,”Lewellyn regularly appeared on morning shows, doling out affordable style advice and helping women remix their wardrobe on a budget. While her book, Never Pay Retail Again: Shop Smart, Spend Less, & Look Your Best Ever introduced the former magazine editor to a wider audience, her staring role on Bravo’s reality series Blood, Sweat, and Heels, really allowed the California native to shine.
Last year, Lewellyn announced she was battling bile duct cancer, a very rare form of the disease that affects the liver. Even after learning of her diagnosis, Lewellyn kept a positive outlook on life.
“Leave it to me to get the exclusive, rare cancer,” she joked last year. “No one gets it, especially at my age with my health and my lifestyle. It’s kind of unheard of. ”
Despite being diagnosed with stage three cancer, Lewellyn wasn’t afraid of the losing the battle.
“I was diagnosed at 34. It was kind of shocking. But also when I was diagnosed I remember some of my immediate thoughts being like, ‘Well you know what? I’m not afraid to die,” she said. “It wasn’t like I wanted to die and it wasn’t like I didn’t want to live because I absolutely love my life and I’ve always loved my life, but they told me it was stage three cancer. I was like, “Well, if it’s my time to go, I’m okay with it.'”
Lewellyn, a self-described “daddy’s girl” is survived by her parents. She was 36.
