D.C police are now searching various areas of D.C. for the remains of Relisha Rudd. The search efforts are now focusing on the area of the National Arboretum to locate Rudd who vanished from a homeless shelter 2 years ago.
Police Chief Cathy Lanier said search teams will spend Wednesday combing through the arboretum and a body of water in Northeast Washington.
“It’s not a large body of water, but it will take the divers some time to get through it,” Lanier stated.
Rudd was last seen March 1, 2014, at a Northeast D.C. motel with 51-year-old Kahlil Tatum, a janitor at the homeless shelter where she lived with her mother and three brothers.
After reports that Rudd was missing, cops found Tatum’s wife dead in a motel, and days later he committed suicide in a D.C. park.
