Prom dresses have evolved over the years. Whether or not they’ve evolved for the better though, is up to you to decide. More and more high school students are going the way of full blown customization when it comes to what they wear and as they think up ideas for ways to avoid showing up in the same frock as 2 -3 other girls at this monumental party, the designs are leaving some parents and young adults speechless.
One photo in particular has been making its way around the social media stratosphere. The high school senior rocks a low cut, body hugging black gown with sheer detail.
“When I was in HS, we had a dress code for prom and other dances. Nothing too revealing and nothing above the knee,” one user noted.
“The cut and sheerness is for a grown woman,” another user commented
“The dress is ugly as hell. Yes, it’s inappropriate but more than anything it’s the ugliest dress I’ve seen in my life,” a third added.
What are your thoughts on the gown? Do you think a dress code should be enforced in high schools to prevent inappropriate dresses from making their way through the doors? What should an inappropriate dress be measured against?
