After years of delays, and even a nasty lawsuit, Tupac Amaru Shakur’s life is finally getting the big screen treatment.
Production on All Eyez On Me, an upcoming biopic on Tupac just wrapped filming, and we also have our first look at the lead actor tasked with bringing Pac’s passion to life.
In a brief clip leaked from the set, Demetrius Shipp Jr.–who looks eerily similar to the late rapper–recreates a tense press conference from Tupac’s 1994 rape trial. In the scene, Shipp proclaims his innocence, while turning his anger on the system.
Benny Boom is directing the film, which also stars the Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira (Afeni Shakur), Vampire Diaries Kat Graham (Jada Pinkett), the Wire’s Jamie Hector (Mutulu Shakur), and Grace Gibson (Faith Evans).
