If you didn’t figure it out already, we’re pretty much done with Lena Dunham after she exemplified everything that’s wrong with white feminists when she made herself out to be an asexual victim simply because Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t pay her any mind at this year’s Met Gala. And while everyone else declared they were over her entitled nonsense as well, the one man we hadn’t heard from before now was the actual victim, Odell.
Yesterday, however, he was asked in the Cowboys locker room to share his thoughts on the ordeal and, as expected, he didn’t care much about it. He told reporters:
“Honestly, I didn’t really know much about the situation to really address and sit there. There’s never any bad blood between me and anybody and I’m sure that it will get handled or settled however, but right now the biggest focus is the Cowboys.”
Now for the non-PC translation: I gave zero effs about Lena Dunham at the Met Gala and I give zero effs about Lena Dunham today.
But in all seriousness, Odell deserves points for handling this situation like the mature 23-year-old black male superstar athlete he is, as his behavior once again proves that he’s not anyone’s stereotype. Thirty-year-old Lena, on the other hand, may want to take some time to reassess her identity in this world and whether she still wants to perpetuate this image of the quirky white girl who wants to be seen as more than a sexual object, when the reality is that’s exactly how she wanted to be viewed at the Met Ball.
