The Grand Mixtress
We first discovered Oyin Handmade on one of Clutch’s favorite hair websites, Nappturality.com. Ever since our discovery of this up and coming boutique brand our lives and tresses have not been the same! Our beauty department used to argue over the rightful owner of the infamous “white box.” Years later we now realize that was the starting point of our Oyin Handmade addiction. It’s so bad that whenever our office stash gets low someone immediately logs on to their site and places a rush order. Nicole Mitsch, our beauty director loves Oyin’s Greg Juice and Deanna, our editorial director, orders Whipped Shea Butter and Whipped Pudding in bulk. Sometimes the ladies of Clutch can be very secretive about what we use to achieve our look, but with Oyin Handmade being one of our staples we knew that we had to release our baby to the masses. It doesn’t matter if you rock a relaxer or au-natural, Oyin Handmade is worth a try. Take it from true product junkies – log on now to Oyin Handmade. It will change your LIFE!
About Oyin Handmade
Oyin Handmade’s hair and body products are hand-mixed from natural and nourishing ingredients. Each formula uses as high a percentage of organic and natural ingredients as possible, and we make the goodies in small batches to ensure freshness. We use such ingredients as unrefined shea butter, pure cocoa butter, vitamin E, organic aloe vera juice and herbal infusions that are carefully chosen for their beneficial and healing properties.
“Oyin” is the Yoruba word for “Honey,” one of nature’s most versatile gifts. Honey has been used for centuries to not only soften and cleanse, but to also tone and hydrate the skin. It softens and moisturizes skin and as a humectant, helps skin to retain water. Honey dissolved in water, is an excellent moisturizer, so we find it perfect for bath, skin and hair care products. Honey and beeswax both have a soothing effect on even the most sensitive of skin.

Oyin Handmade was born in winter 2001 when Jamyla started sharing her all-natural body care products with a small circle of family and friends. From there, it moved to fairs and shows, and the website was launched in spring of 2003.
Developed by ‘grand Mixtress’ Jamyla Bennu, Oyin Handmade cosmetics are specially formulated with a focus not only on aesthetics and styling, but the nourishment and health of your hair and skin. Ranging from rich creams and solid lotion bars to oil-free liquid conditioner sprays, Oyin products are tried and tested by people with a wide range of hair needs and skin sensitivities, with results that can be seen in the testimonials of each product.

Oooooh don’t even get me started with their funk butter…I swear I come darn near close to licking my underarms. LOL
All of Oyin’s products are awesome. I hope their products don’t lose their quality like Carol’s Daughter.
I love Oyin’s products. Especially Greg’s Juice, it really leaves your hair nice and moisturized. I think that the people that read this article, then try Oyin’s Products, will be very grateful that you decided to run this.
I am a huge Oyin fan, also! I really like their Honey Hemp Conditioner and the Whipped Shea Pudding is the BEST! Greg’s Juice is another good one, too.
Thanks for repping Oyin, because they have a great product line!
Another Oyin Handmade junkie representin’! I love everything I’ve tried, but my faves are the new Juices & Berries Spritz, Whipped Pudding (which does double-duty for hair and skin) and the Burnt Sugar Pomade. I like how I can also order their products from the CurlMart at naturallycurly.com if I need a rush order. I’ve been natural since December 2006 and I fianlly found something that works 100% for keeping my hair soft, healthy and moisturized. Give ‘em a try.
