The focus for this year is lashes. Forget the lips, the cheeks and even the eyebrows. Okay — maybe don’t forget them but only pay attention to them after you have a fierce lash. It’s all about lash, lash and more lash. Lashes can be fun and flirty or heavy and dramatic. They can be long and wispy or short and demure. As long as they are the star of the show.
Prescriptives Motor-Eyes Instant Action Mascara ($32, qvc.com) If you want turn up the volume, color impact and curl of your lashes, while turning down clumping, flaking and application time then this is the mascara for you! The vibrating brush and innovative mascara give lashes instant impact. The brush works synergistically with the high-performance formula wrapping each lash in thick, rich, vibrant color. The continuous brush vibrations give lashes extreme volume, lift, curl, and length. I found the brush really easy to use and the color rich in pigment. The results were evenly coated full lashes that had curl and length. I think this would be especially great for a novice who finds an eyelash curler and the varieties of mascara confusing. This is straightforward and eliminates the need for multiple lash products. Now it won’t hit stores until mid-April but you can get it at QVC right now.
CoverGirl LashBlast Luxe ($7.99, Drugstores Nationwide) For super thick, volumes, glistening lashes grab LashBlast Luxe mascara. CoverGirl designed their biggest brush ever to give you lashes you never dreamed possible. Each stroke from the wand gives you a blast of lush, volumized lashes. Double the volume of your lashes and add a hint of shimmer with dazzling fullness in a few quick strokes of the big brush. LashBlast’s volume-boosting formula and patent-pending brush are designed to max out each and every lash leaving you with the ultimate big lash look. Plus its Hypoallergenic & suitable for contact lens wearers. I love how big the brush is which makes it easy to deposit color to every lash with only a few strokes and its clump free. The hint of shimmer was a wonderful added touch. Your lashes will be the star of the show.
Rimmel London Sexy Curves Mascara ($7.49, Mass Market Retailers and Drugstores Nationwide) Curves are sexy. And if you want to plump your lashes up then grab this mascara. It all starts with the fuller figured brush that helps lashes plump. It is the first Triple Plump brush with 3 x the curves for 70% curlier lashes. Voluptuous brush with CurveControl technology wiggles easily through your lashes quickly coating them. Exclusive brush design curves IN to maximize lash loading, curves OUT to curl and de-clump each lash for a complete curved look. And if that wasn’t enough it is enriched with proteins, the plumping formula strengthens lashes over time for a continuous lash boosting effect. The mascara holds for an ultra long time and color stays put. This mascara really delivers. I love how fat and curly my lashes were. I almost felt like I was wearing false lashes. Amazing.
M.A.C Mascara X ($12.50, nordstrom.com) A mascara that creates dramatically longer and thicker lashes instantly. X marks this spot with this amazing mascara. It builds dramatically longer, thicker and glossier looking lashes. The softer fiber of the football-shaped brush delivers maximum payoff on the lashes. Mascara X doesn’t clump or smudge, it is ophthalmologist tested and designed to be longwearing. It builds and strengthens lashes with a vegetable derived protein and contains Panthenol to condition the lashes. My lashes actually looked and felt healthier with this mascara. A perfect mascara for those whole like really fat lashes.
Perfect Mascara by Iman ($6.99, ulta.com) Not just your average mascara. This conditioning mascara leaves lashes soft and beautiful. The brush delivers tons of color but there is no flaking or rubbing off. Coats lashes really well with well-pigmented color. A really good value that feels ultra luxurious

I am always on the search for the best mascara. Thanks for such a nice range of mascaras to choose from.
I like this list too. Its really hard to find a mascara you like. I have short lashes so its a never ending search. I like the one with motor, the Prescriptives. I wonder if that will work for me.
I don’t think I’ve ever stuck to the same mascara more than twice…lol. I’ve used YSL Luxurious Mascara, Cover Girl Lash Exact, Benefit Bad Gal, bare Minerals Buxom Lash, Too Faced Lash Injection & their Pinpoint Lash Injection—just to name a few…lol. I’ve liked them all, but I’m a commitment-phobe when it comes to mascara….lol.
I may pick up that MAC. This will give me reason to perfect my eye makeup application.
great thx!
I’ll have to add these to my shopping list!
A really good mascra to try is Urban decay big fatty. I garner a lot of attention whenever I use it. People think that I am wearing individual lashes. faces by L
Never thought we’d be paying so much for mascara.
I was excited by the lash article. Then straight disappointed when it only featured mascara. I think there is more to the beauty of eyelashes than cosmetics\. I want to know a healthy natural alternative regimen for lusterous lashes. Kind of like a clean face and sunscreen(healthy) is to foundation ( make up). I know now make up are taliored to be better nowadays, but i long for something that doesnt come out of bottle.
The LashBlast Luxe is awesome. I use that!
@ GiGi you know I haven’t really heard of natural alternatives to mascara. My friend is big on green beauty and she said she’s had trouble finding info on that.
