What I Love This Month: Hello Kitty by M.A.C.

When I was little I used to spend every weekend trying to spend my hard earned allowance on anything Hello Kitty I could find. And there was a lot of Hello Kitty stuff out there. I am talking Hello Kitty pencils and erasers, Hello Kitty shoelaces and stickers, Hello Kitty coin banks and wallets. Whatever your little heart desired Hello Kitty made it. For generations of girls Hello Kitty ate up their allowances and stole their hearts.

Looking back it’s easy to see why Hello Kitty appeals to so many girls. She is girly, fun, sweet, sexy, edgy, classy and stylish. Hello Kitty is so perfectly cute it’s hard to see why everybody doesn’t love her.

Well, somebody behind the scenes at M.A.C. Cosmetics must love Hello Kitty because they have created a whole line dedicated to the diva herself. The line debuts on February 10th with a limited time only run (eight weeks max) but I am sure it will sell out way before then. The Hello Kitty offerings will be divided into two collections: the Hello Kitty Colour Collection and the more high-end Hello Kitty Kouture. Most of the items will be in Colour Collection and includes: lipstick ($14), lipglass ($14), lip conditioners ($14.50), eye shadow palettes ($38), pigment ($19.50), glitter eye liners ($16.50), black mascara ($12) and false lashes ($12). The shades in the collection range from pinks and turquoises to lavenders and greens.

Hello Kitty Kouture is the high end of the collection. Items here include Dazzleglass ($28), which features a reusable silver chain pendant with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals on black with a pink crystal bow. And Sheer Mystery Powder ($90) it’s packaged in a silver powder compact with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals with a pink crystal bow on a black background. And the stores will over special items like bags and dolls in addition to the makeup items.

The black packaging gives Hello Kitty a darker edge and is a perfect representation of the mixing of M.A.C. and Hello Kitty. I am going to be the first one in line at my local M.A.C. counter. There products are super cute and I know the quality M.A.C. brings to each product. I have to get my paws on as much from the line as possible. It’s been a long a time but I hope Hello Kitty remembers me. Maybe she can help me cut in line at the counter.
