Great interview! I recently discovered her blog through Twitter and have been reading it daily ever since. Her blog has inspired me to go natural and embrace ME. I love the positivity that the blog and "Afrobella" exudes.

I wanted to chime in on the Nappy question, not sure if it has anything to do with the post that was on fly a bit back (and latter Afrobella) but would love to give my two cents on it as I commented as one who don't use the word along with others.

From where I stand, as a hairstylist especially, I've learned that my hair texture is a tight curl, call it coily if you will but just in relation to hair texture I'm more likely to define my hair in that way than nappy as that doesn't really paint the picture of hair texture and especially because we as brown folk have all different textures to our hair yet we have that one term to define us all.

So just as someone who doesn't use the word (althought I'm not insulted by its use) wanted to share that not everyone has to have an "issue" with something to not embrace it. Even if there weren't a negative past attached to the word there would be those that wouldn't embrace the word doesn't mean they love their hair any less.

As far as Afrobella goes love the site!:-)

I absolutely LOVE me some Afrobella Blog - my day is not complete until I read Afrobella's blog with a nice cuppa tea & a biscuit.

Brilliant interview!

I love afrobella! I'm a product and hair junkie and this quickly filled my need. It even inspired me to go natural and I haven't processed my hair in 8 months. I'm glad I got a chance to learn more about the creator of the blog. This was a great interview!

Afrobella is an absolutely great read. Plus you can tell that Patrice has a gerat soul, and she's a Trini! Keep up the great work. We'll keep coming back for more.

Great interview and coverage. I visit Afrobella daily, and respect what she's doing. As editor of Beauty Chat Blog, the type of site that actually does "jump around from topic to topic," I am very impressed with her focus to stay within a certain area. What works for one person may not be the goal of another's; however, her insights are fabulous.
