If music is the soundtrack of the world, then fashion is the visual indicator of our society’s ever changing paradigms and appetites. Since the early 90’s, Misa Hylton, has held the answer to the question that has plagued A-Listers for decades: ”What am I going to wear?” Always a trend-setter, this fashion maven has been the solution to the style needs of some of the most recognizable names and faces in entertainment.
As the C.E.O. of Chyna Doll Enterprises, Misa is set to go beyond her stylist roots by putting her coveted sense of style within the reach of the internet consumer with the launch of www.madisonstarcouture.com. Madison Star, a name inspired by Misa’s daughter, is the cyber-destination for those who set timeless trends on the street, as well as on the red carpet. A businesswoman and mother of three, Misa promises the site will run the gamut of “high-end to casual wear.”
With the launch of Madison Star, this online boutique is an opportunity for Misa to introduce her sense of style to the masses and invite the consumer into her world to experience her favorite fashion selections from a host of new and innovative designers. As for you, the consumer, Madison Star will always be upscale, luxurious and timeless, and continuously offer access to celebrity style as close and convenient as your keyboard.
Clutch: Where does your love of fashion and sense of style come from?
Misa: My love of fashion has evolved naturally since I was a young girl. I used to spend hours flipping through fashion magazines! But no matter what, I truly believe my sense of style is a God given talent and I am so thankful for that.
Clutch: What celebrity would you most like to style and why?
Misa: I would like to work with Britney Spears. There is so much you can do with her and she has the star power for her style to be appreciated and to influence trends.
Clutch: Do you have any other projects in the works?
Misa: I just returned from Japan with Terrence J and Rosci from 106 & Park for the launch of their show over there. Because of my Japanese heritage, it was fun to introduce them to the culture and mix it with urban style. I’m also in the process of designing my line of Madison Star Couture jeans which will be available in the fall.
Clutch: What can you tell our readers about your new clothing line Madison Star Couture?
Misa: Madison Star Couture, a name inspired by my daughter, is an online boutique where you can shop anytime and from anywhere in the world to find hot, unique, stylish pieces that are as close and convenient as your fingertips. My goal was to find designers you wouldn’t see everywhere and to give my customers the opportunity to find their own unique style.
Clutch: How do you balance motherhood and a thriving career?
Misa: I balance the two by prioritizing, and I have a supportive family who cheers me on every step of the way.
Clutch: Who are your favorite designers and why?
Misa: I love many different designers all for different reasons. Just to name a few, Noir, Meghan Fabulous, Mackage which most can be found on Madison Star Couture.
Clutch: What items should every woman have in her summer wardrobe?
Misa: For the summer, every woman should have something Gold whether it be accessories, sandals, handbag……Whatever!

Clutch: You’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Who are your favorite celebrities to work with and why?
Misa:I always get asked that question, and honestly I have loved working with them all. Each client has brought a unique experience and opportunity to every project I have done.
Clutch:What are the best and worst parts about being a stylist/designer?
Misa: The best part of being a stylist is the opportunity to be creative. There is no worst part. I LOVE fashion styling!
Clutch: Are there any up and coming designers or trends that we should keep our eye on?
Misa: Yes, make sure to check out the new collections on Madison Star Couture in July/August.
