It’s a Wednesday night on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. A highly charged and eclectic mix of stylish party goers including everyone from the Simmons’ Sisters to Mickey Factz have packed hipster hub The Delancey anticipating one of the most promoted fashion events of the season. But, don’t expect to witness the next collections from the high fashion brands commonly associated with the New York City fashion scene, instead expect the anti-couture . . . Street Style.
What is Street Style? More of a culture than a trend the scenesters would agree. “Style originated in the streets!” they’ve been known to protest. And as the fashion and entertainment world evolves, we’re watching these styles from the streets become universally mainstreamed. At the forefront of the seemingly silent invasion we introduce you to the women who represent the embodiment of their respective culture. Get acquainted—you’re sure to be seeing more of them.

[...] Hello all. Clutch have featured some young ladies including myself in an article in their online mag. It’s a good read & so nice to see some peeps doing it for themselves. I’ve put my answers on here but you can also read the full article here. [...]

oh and lissa monet and her pose!? incredible.
Ha! I know Shyvonne’s middle name. But I’ve been sworn to secrecy. Also, I think I should get some credit not only as her style consultant but also as her weather woman.
I absolutely LOVED this article!!!! I’m familiar with several of these women, and I’m glad that they’re getting their shine because it seems that women’s street wear is often overlooked and underrated. The ladies are really doing the damn thing out here, especially in the field of fashion!
Each of their stories are unique and inspirational, and hopefully one day I’ll be featured in the next installment of this article. ; )
Great job Clutch!

Yes…..i love these ladies. LONG LIVE THE TOMBOYS!!!!!
i love seeing all these different people of color especially my own
it’s amazing
They are all great. Fly Lady is in a dance instruction video too. She’s been making her moves for a while now. It takes time for people to see but alot of stars have been performing their whole lives.
THIS WAS A GOOD FEATURE.
Good to see the sisters/peers Vashite and Lady Di get shine. They are definitely Mavericks of our generation. Bigups!
I think it’s so fly when a chick can come out the box with her own style and not try to copy all of these celebs who can’t even dress themselves…..you need to be thankin your stylist!!! I love the street chic. I am a slightly older than the girls featured but I have always been known for having my own personal style. I love what the ladies here are doing….keep it hot!!!

Loved this article.
I love these! Keep ‘em coming!
I may be accused of being a hater but Shyvonne’s sense of style –or lack thereof– is juvenile & ridiculous. The girl cannot dress. period. I remember her from undergrad and I’ve never seen her not looking a hotassmess, and almost everyone I know that knows/has met her has almost always said something similar as well….
BIG UP TO ALL MY HATERS!! You’re not doing something right if people aren’t talking about you. SHYVONNE ROCKS!!
What a great read, good to see things like this being done. Specially loving that Sofi Donuts chick xxx
Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog. :) Cheers! Sandra. R.
