Clutch is a positive, empowering and open magazine, but we do not allow negative and disrespectful comments to be made about ANY race or religion. Clutch’s audience is also different from other niche magazines in the sense that we are intelligent, informed and diverse. Therefore, if comments are made we expect for them to be thought out, accurate and backed by statistics and facts from reputable sources.

Smart scholar. However, I would lend pause before we label someone an intellect. Intellects are not Hill or Dyson. They are Marable, Baker, Outlaw, hooks, West, Spillers, Jaynes, etc.

Dr. Hill is the best debater I have ever seen. He breaks people DOWN. He always make sure to get his point across. Ivy League alum is representing!

This is an excellent article! I enjoyed Dr. Hill’s fresh perspective on how to change hip hop music. Telling an artists to make ‘different’ or ‘better’ music will continue to land on def ears. I agree that changing our world, and our own perspectives of ourselves within this society to make it unappealing to even venture into that negative space just to make music that degrades multiple contact points within the black community is important.
