Great article – along with being glued to the TV during football season, my husband also coaches high scool, wrestling, volleyball, and baseball – you can imagine what my house looks like ;o( – Most times I try to take advantage of the situation by confining him to the basement and using the big screen to watch Lifetime, Style, HGTV, and the Food channels. I also go equipped with a book or writing pad when we go to restaurants during sports seasons that have ESPN on their screens :o)

About as much as you can talk about whatsherface at the job who you can’t stand, buy the same heels in eight different colors, and swap pregnancy tips and anecdotes for hours on end.

Sports is a very healthy outlet for many. We could be doing stuff alot worse if our teams didn’t consume us. When the game is on, a least you know exactly where your man is. Besides, if you think your man is really ignoring you for ESPN, the problem is your relationship. The difference between ESPN and a real mistress is that the sports addiction was well embedded way before you came along, so you gotta check yourself and the relationship. Men and women have to find things that we truly enjoy together, not just do stuff to please the other person.

Im a young lady that loves sports and absolutely loves espn!!it may be a sickness b/c its the first thing i tune into before the news.it adds excitment to my day hearing about some athlete getting in trouble or cut or some other altercation like that.Sports to men is like Gossip to women,cant live with or without it:)

Be careful!! My soon-to-be ex husband thought it more important to wait up in front of his plasma for the highlights, then ended up falling asleep on the couch every night… Not conducive to nurturing a marriage! Damned Sportscenter! lol!

Loved it! You already know how I feel about this! My x and current “friend” is addicted to this mess and I hate going over there to hang out. Especially during basketball season – it gets ridiculous.

My new test is if I go over a man’s house and I see it more than one time come on the screen I know what I am potentially getting in to. It turns me away. Its one thing to watch it once a day to see what happened – but keep it on the channel or have to keep turning back. Nope. Can’t do it anymore!
