I love Raphael Saadiq. I really loved “Instant Vintage” (still bumping “Tick Tock” from that album today). I own all of his solo CD’s and cannot wait to pick up this one. He is truly a gifted musician and one of my favorite artists of all time. I hope he continues to put out great music, I’m never disappointed by his musical contributions.

I felt the same way Sasha! I was surprised Dale wrote this. I was more disappointed in the questions he asked especially since we does a great job at Scheme Mag. He could have asked better questions – not a big reflection on Clutch though – well sorta since he writes for them.

Thanks Clutch for letting us know this will be the last wack interview. I know you guys have and will do better.

I’m sorry but this interview is wack! I am a huge Raphael Saadiq fan and this really gave no insite into who he is, most of the questions were based off of songs, not about him, his past, Tony Toni Tone….NOTHING! Come on Clutch, step your game up!

great interview, dale. i had the pleasure of seeing raphael perform last wednesday night here in new york and i’m STILL on a musical high! raphael gave us a two-hour experience that was nothing short of AMAZING! he and his back up singers were on point and kept the crowd on ten the entire night. he did a great job of giving us songs from his new project weaved in with his older solo classics and of course, hits from his Tony, Toni, Tone days. If Raphael is coming to your city i strongly suggest you cop a ticket ASAP!
