This article was so well written that I didn’t want it to end. Then you for sharing the details of who Rebecca Walker truly is. Her gifts are shared with many around the world and It is not everyday that we are able to read about the author. Mother daughter relationships are in my eyes one of life’s mystery’s it seems that as soon as you think you figured it out the equation changes. Rebecca is blessed and continues to grow as a person as a result of that relationship. Thank you for showing us that the shadow doesn’t have to define you as a person.

Walker reminds us that just because you are a lesiban or a feminist or a traditionalist its doesnt mean that you think, feel and live the same way as others that prescribe to your same principles. These ideals are frameworks it is up to the individual to create their own existence. excellent piece clutch, you are offically bookmark status.

Thank you for this. I’m an huge fan of all things Alice Walker. And although she speaks often of her daughter and of motherhood, I didn’t know much about Rebecca. Now I have a whole new list of article, stories adn books to go find and read. Thanks Clutch!
