After the deluge of articles focusing on why black women can’t date, get married or find decent men in the dating pool, is it nice to be able to watch four black women presented as being single and attractive.

Her brilliance has been paired with many hot music acts of the day like Anthony Hamilton, Bilal, and Monica. Her voice can be heard to the music of talented violinist Miri Ben Ari, and she’s put her pen to the paper for artists like India Arie. Her name is Algebra Blessett. And the only complicated problem you’ll find here is that roller coaster we all allow love to take us on over and over again; a topic often visited on her latest album, in stores now. You’ll find melody mixes with notes of classical, soulful sounds put down the way only Algebra could. And Clutch speaks briefly with the busy Atlantian who’s second home is seemingly the stage.
Clutch: Who are you likely to pop in on a long drive, Amel Larrieux or India Arie?
Algebra: Amel Larrieux
Clutch: Which up and coming artist(s) do you feel like people should get excited about?
Algebra: Ha!!! ALGEBRA BLESSETT Ha!!!!
Clutch: Which old school album do you like to unwind to or dance around the house in?
Algebra: Not just one!!! Impossible!!! Outkast-Southernplayalistic, 80’s Whitney Houston, Deniece Williams, KLYMAXX, New Edition, MJ!!! (all on shuffle).
Clutch:What’s artists are in heavy rotation in your iPod?

Great post! Love this chick right here :)
I love her voice!
I love her work. “Run and Hide” is definitely one of my favorites from her.
“run and hide” is the jam =]
… by far a gem unfully discovered. Many are unaware of her vocal talents and many in the indie scene know her skill WELL. Music has been shuffled to another level leaving many unable to tap into the wonders of indie music and its such a shame because Algebra has so much to offer.
I asked………..and you made it happen! Thanks for peeking in on Algebra for us and letting us know what she’s been up to. I wish her 1,000 times the success of the Purpose album. She’s a REAL singer (such a seasoned and soulful voice) and I look forward to her new material.
