Jill Scott is Pregnant with Her First Child
Jill Scott is pregnant with her first child, the R&B singer and actress revealed to reporters at the Television Critics Association conference in Los Angeles on Friday. Promoting her new HBO series The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, based on the popular novels by Alexander McCall Smith, Scott said she discovered that she was pregnant just before leaving for Botswana where she filmed the show. “The first trimester I spent in Botswana,” said the star, who is due April 25. “That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You’re sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days.”(Continue Reading…)
Faith Evans Calls Lil’ Kim’s ‘Notorious’ Badmouthing ‘Just Sad’
On Wednesday night in Manhattan, almost all the music-industry insiders associated with the Notorious B.I.G. came out to see the premiere of his biopic, “Notorious.” Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Cease, even Nas. But no Lil’ Kim. The Queen recently came out publicly and stated she is not in support of the film and blames Big’s mother, Voletta Wallace, and his widow, singer Faith Evans, for what she calls a negative portrayal. “I’ve had enough and I’m about to expose them both. … I’ve been quiet for a long time,” Kim was quoted as saying by Hip-Hop Weekly. “I’m very disappointed in Faith. There’s nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin’ B.I.G. all day. I’m gonna always do that. … It’s time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed. (Continue Reading…)
E! Greenlights New Hip-Hop Video Model TV Show
A new Hip-Hop themed series is coming to E! Entertainment titled Candy Girls, which will focus on women in rap music videos. The 30-minute show, which is labeled a “docu-soap,” centers around aspiring and established female actresses who work for an agency, which casts the potential models in the videos. E! ordered eight episodes of Candy Girls, which will air Sunday nights at 10:30 PM, immediately following the premiere of the third season of “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” (Continue Reading…)
