Michael Jordan: A dream come true
A relaxed Michael Jordan broke into a wide smile as he sat at his desk Thursday night amid his whirlwind week of realizing a longtime goal of becoming an NBA owner. Soon, though, that steely resolve that defined his superstar playing career peeked through as he fielded a question about his commitment to turn the Charlotte Bobcats from a money-losing, non-playoff team into a winner in both areas. “It’s motivating,” the six-time NBA champion said of the naysayers who joke he’ll be more worried about tee times than season ticket renewals. “I’ve never been asked to be out at the forefront of an organization. Several weeks ago, Akoo was also placed under scrutiny for a racey billboard that showed a female model at the waist of another male model. The billboard was positioned in the middle of a busy intersection in Newark, NJ causing quite a stir in the Newark community. (Continue Reading…)

South Africa’s first Black female winemaker on her vintage year

The country’s first black female winemaker when she started out six years ago, Biyela has established herself as an award-winning vintner. Biyela grew up in KwaZulu Natal, 800 miles from the vineyards of Stellenbosch where she now practices her craft. She had never even tasted wine before she enrolled at the University of Stellenbosch on a scholarship, but it was there that Biyela earned a degree in oenology — the science and study of wine.
