Exhale. You Can Hate Your Job

Wednesday Nov 11, 2009 – By Arlice Nichole

cubicleYou’ve probably heard it a thousand times, “Be glad you have a job in this economy!” While it may be true that today, a job seems more like a luxury than a necessity, that does not change the fact that you hated your job prior to the fall of the economy, and you still do. But, because so many others would be happy to take your place, you cease all efforts at finding a new gig for now. You really are grateful that you still have a job and can pay the bills, but that does not change the fact that you feel you’re not where you should be career wise.

Don’t allow the state of the economy to affect you so bad that you stop planning, preparing for, and pursuing your dream. Here are a few ways to help you get out there!

* Sign-up with LinkedIn. It’s the serious social network for hooking you up with serious professionals.
* Let people know what your looking for. Word of mouth really works!
* Put your resume out there. There’s a strong chance that it could be filed away due to cut backs and lay offs, but you would have taken the first step towards the life you want.
