I am with you Jaime. Bill is exposed enough to other wealthy or “regla” black people enough to know we do not all behave in the horrible stereotypes they attach to us.
He was saying that simply for attention and ratings sake. Now, I am not saying that he is not a racist pig on the daily, but in this case it was too obvious what he was trying to accomplish.

I don’t think that HE believed in those images. He was saying it for the millions of white americans that believe the stereotypes. So, Bill O’Reilly wasn’t shocked. He thinks that white people with no exposure to black people in real life would be shocked to find out that we’re not so much different from them.

^^EclecticSoul-this is how I feel as well. I don’t think he made a racial comment it was more a social comment. He truly believed in the images he reads, reports on and sees on TV and I believe he was [for lack of a better word]“shocked” to learn that everyone eats the same way.

What’s extremely sad to me is that people outside of the black race who don’t have exposure to many blacks think that what they see on tv represents the majority of our population. Shame on them for their ignorance but SHAME on us for portraying the same ‘ole thing in the media.

Well, if he uttered those words, would we really be surprised? Mr. O’reilly has always been ignorant concerning African-Americans and anything that has to do with us. I am glad he had a chance to see that no, not all us are “loud” and “ghetto” as he expected but it’s sad that at his age, he still thinks the majority of black people “don’t know how to act”.
