NYC’s chic elite welcomed Alexis Phifer’s Ghita Collection with open arms at the Essence & Toyota If Looks Could Kill fashion event last week. Sophisticated sensuality graced the evening’s atmosphere from the contemporary decor to the display of delectable new Toyota Camry’s. Showing collection pieces from Spring ‘07 through Fall ‘08, the FIDM grad infuses elements of playful social charm with a matured finish. With inspiration stemming from the fashions of Ancient Greece to her most stylish friends, the evening’s showings were highly attractive. Icing the cake Keyshia Cole provided the audience with a fabulous soulful performance turning the crowd over to the rocking sounds of DJ Beverly Bonds. Familiar faces Damon Dash, Mashonda and Rocsi of BET’s 106 & Park could be spotted amongst the crowd mingling and reveling in the buzzing energy.
The night also offered the chance to land on the cover of Essence Magazine. Well, not a national cover but, as a memento guests were encouraged to have their picture taken with the appealing new Toyota and to tune in to the new online series, If Looks Could Kill.
