This documentary was released in 2007. This is a well researched documentary that exposes the “White” Media’s long-term agenda to standardize Caucasian people as the “social … all Â» norm” for general society. Through the globalization and centralization of the “White” media and its constant propagation of repetitive images depicting Caucasians in positive roles and as protagonists while usually depicting Non-Caucasians as background characters and antagonists — which are often connected to negative themes and stereotypes — the media elite have been able to effectively condition general society into subconsciously adhering to a racist social hierarchy in which Caucasian people are at the very apex.

The documentary addresses many modern-day internalized racist psychological dispositions (subconscious forms of internalized racism) which are unknowingly passed down from generation to generation due to the globalization and pervasiveness of “Whiteness”; a cultural assimilation process of which, is directly derivative to historical European expansionism, colonialism, and imperialism.

Sad, upsetting, but a reality. We really have to cut the TV off and stop the subliminal brainwashing. Even though they have started to show diversity on TV for children like Dora the Explorer, Diago. But, the cartoons like the “Backyardigans” that are cartoon muppets/aliens have names that are common in our communities. The problem is they don’t show Black children as the cartoon characters. So they can’t really connect themselves to the character and relate to it.

They also have “Little Bill” but what do our little girls have! Andre 3000 and that’s pretty much it. They do not see themselves on TV period and they are forced to indentify with Dora the Explorer and her spanish culture.

The Spanish language and image is starting to go mainstream, but why are most of the Black shows so hip-hop focused. I am a big hip-hop fan ,but if needs to be a couple of approaches for our children not just rapping. It’s almost affirming to our kids that they have to be in entertainment and it’s should be a top choice for them.

Blacks and the Asian and Spanish culture really have some deep issues as well – and that is just as sad.

I know we always say “we need this or we need to do that” turn that “we” into an “I” and start the change. I plan to do so.

It’s at a point now that we need to be able to customize the Tv boxes so that we can be in total control of what our children watch. Like only have a list of shows that you have pre-approved for your child to watch and I don’t mean parental controls I mean you put shows on our TV so that everytime your children want to watch TV with and without you in the room the shows you picked will play over and over. Is there a product like this already?

I am not naive at one point they will be exposed, but if you plant that seed of self, skin color and culture love when they are that unconsious mess won’t stick and roll right off of our children.

I agee Shani. Cut the TV off! We have to inorder to instill, prepare and teach our children to love themselves and not who they see on TV. I plan to do this as soon as I become a Mom.

It was so sad at the end when the little boy from the first experiment in the 70’s said the white cartoon was better than the black one because the black one wasn’t born the right color – white.

Thank you for posting this!

It is time to stop sweeping these issues under the carpet. It is time to look inward and find self-love before being able to respect others. I do not see this film as being entirely anti- european, rather it raises the awareness that we are continually roped into their reality and that we do not do enough to explore, empower and glorify our own.

It is time to stop the indoctrination!
