Hmmm ... ALL (but one) my friends are Black -- including my wife. And they are all allowed to use my potty -- and eat my food if they can deal with vegan cooking -- and ride in my car (in the front seat, if my wife isn't already there!). I fix their computers, they hook me up with good car deals, I grow extra collard greens (I wasn't raised with them and my wife can eat only so much) for them. Forty-five of us went to the circus today (Pontiac, MI) and, once again, I was the only white pea in a black pod. So what ... we had a ball! Later, at a burger place, I had a kid cracking up as I sang along to some old Doors and Jeff Airplane jams. We both ended up dancing in our seats.

This JP has managed to sit out at least the last 30 years. (cue Rod Serling)

Interracial kids MAY have things tougher (my wife can pass for Latino / Caucasian and has some ugly stories to tell about growing up in NYC), but that's an issue for the parents to figure out ... not some fool sitting in judgment who isn't a contestant in the game.

Frankly, I think that if you can count your 'friends of another race' without having to stop to think about what racial group they belong to, you've got a lot of growing up to do and precious little time to do it in.

C'mon folks ... if you find yourself saying "(fill in the blank) are people, too", you're missing the point: (fill in the blank) are people. Period. Whites, Blacks, Asians, Middle-Easterners, American Indians, Hispanics, etc.

While I'm at it I want to point out something else: this is my fourth marriage. It is the first time the woman has loved me even more after the wedding than before. Ladies ... if you are looking for your own 'blue-eyed devil', walk into the wedding with your eyes wide open and your focus 100% on being a full-time wife afterward. Nothing is perfect, but it worked for us.

Clara, its wrong no matter who is involved (as long as its not a child). Plus you can't blame one race for Prop 8. Seriously how are you to know the race of people who voted? Did you take a survey?

I searched on Fox News to get a perspective on what conservatives are saying about this interracial marriage flap.
Nothing!!
One article on the subject taken from the associated press...with no viewer comments allowed
Compare that to the pages and pages of articles and thousands of comments on a Fox News search of "Obama, Nobel Prize"
Seems like the conservatives are keeping a low profile on this one...and keeping their readers from making comments on it that might reveal their "racial opinions" on this.
I guess Fox is hoping this blows away quickly before some of their readers start throwing their support to the justice of the Peace.

omg it's not like they can't marry elsewhere. People don't want gays to marry, and black people were a big part of prop8 being passed so if you ask me this is just karma. So when gays can marry, that's when i'll go out and trip over interracials being denied marriage. As for now, just chill out. Interracials can marry any day of the week, any day of the year. Adults are so immature when it comes to race, I swear. None of the other denied couples made a hoopla about it, they just got married elsewhere.

i'm not against interracial daters or anything like that, we just have more to worry about, like healing the black community, stopping the violence, educating us students, bringing out more positive black role models instead of being assimilationists.

LOL @ the last bit though, so hilarious!

btw, i'm black, straight and not racist.

WOW. It's disgusting that he used his position and power to shut down a couple in love wanting to get married.. like they needed this to taint their moment. And how the hell does saying he allows black people to use his bathroom? (wtf?) support his stance he's not a racist? I can't wait until the ACLU, judiciary committee and the media get a hold of him and his job.

Without interracial relationships/marriages, the world would not have the beauty that is Boris Kodjoe and I would be a sad women. :)

“I’m not a racist. I just don’t believe in mixing the races that way.”

Can someone tell the judge that's the meaning of being a racist?

And when you have to point out that you're not a racist or that you have black friends, that usually means you're a racist!

I read about this the other day. I would like to say I was surprised, but unfortunately I have no illusions that despite the year in which we live and the man currently in the White House, racism is alive and well.

The last two sentences were a hilarious and on point way to end this.
