> Trend Report: Basic Tees

As we enter the dog days of summer, basic t-shirts can be the easiest to wear for running errands, a morning jog or just lounging around in your yard. But who says they can’t be versatile and stylish? Aspiring to looking and feeling our best at all times, we’ve searched high and low to find the most flexible yet chic basic tops of the season.
Although this season we’ve seen the v-neck take a daringly revealing plunge, the boyfriend cut v-neck remains the most comfy yet fashionable. You can wear your boyfriend tee with sweats or a great pair of denim. This piece can easily go from loungewear to bohemian chic. Try buying ones made from organic cotton. Not only do they feel the most lightweight in humid weather but, they are also environmentally friendly. The knotted racer back tank top also makes this summer’s list. The sporty yet sexy alternative to the traditional tank top provides just the right amount of support for any size. The Lounge Tee, the latest must have is actually the lightest of the bunch. Despite the ¾ quarter length sleeves this tee actually provides the most comfort in hot temperatures. The wide scoop neck and sheer cotton fabric doubles this piece as sleepwear or flirty loungewear. The pocket tee has also come back around this season. As this trend became revisited by many men’s lines last season we’re now seeing it on many women’s summer basics. Printed, graphic or plain, if you’re anything like me then you have a special affection for a great comfortable t-shirt!

American Apparel is also a great place for basic, extremely comfy tees.
Well call me played out *LOL* or maybe I was just before my time, because i have been wearing these as a staple during the spring and summers since 2005.
Folks call it my “white girl look,” I call it easy.
lol i wear it to work all the time
ceecee, I agree. I will rock a loose tee (with no logos) with some skinny jeans, a nice cardigan and some heels to work and pull it off…
Chimere… I get the ‘white girl look’ comment too, but I’ll continue to rock the basic tees
J. Crew also has some great basic tees.. their v necks are perfect
another great brand for basic tees is alternative apparel, mad comfy and they have a wide range of styles! I have a few and they are so soft and good quality
