Ginuwine sung about a great pair of jeans for a reason. There’s nothing like that pair that hugs you in all of the right places. If you’ve ever been on the hunt for the perfect pair, then you know it can be a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. With that in mind, the ladies of Clutch thought it would be a great idea to recommend the jeans we strut our stuff in!

My favorite jeans (believe it or not) are actually Baby Phat. Kimora Lee Simmons makes really great dark wash, plus size jeans that do not sit low and have good elasticity in them. I think she does 2% spandex instead of the usual 1%. I’m a fat booty girl with a small waist and they fit like an Isotoner glove!

My favorite jeans are my Paper Denim & Cloth ‘New Retro Jean’ I bought them in 2003 and have rocked them ever since. With just the right amount of wear and an ultra soft fabric these jeans scream favorite pair. They have gone through all the fads and trends (I am talking to you skinny jeans) and came out on the other side. It is the perfect jean.

Right now I’m on the skinny leg band wagon. I love True Religions with their signature back pocket detail. One of my favorite jeans is by Blue Cult. They have no pockets in the back which accentuates my derriere without the bulk that is sometimes added due to pockets. And ol’ tried and true- Levi jeans- never disappoint. I never have to worry about “crack” exposure- they come in great styles and washes. Levi jeans are definitely universal- almost everyone can look great in a pair- and you don’t have to break your pockets in order to own one.
Oh! I did make a recent purchase (two jeans) the other day at a store that recently opened up in Soho, NY called Uniqlo and is a big hit! The jeans are skinny leg, dark wash with a slate color and they fit great! They were priced at $40.00 each. I am a firm believer that you can find hot jeans for cheaper prices and none will be wiser!

My favorite pair of jeans are Seven’s and Citizens of Humanity. As a black woman with curves, I require stretch jeans that fit in all the right places, and I can’t stress how much these jeans do so.
The ‘Kelly’ stretch by Citizens are the best, and for Seven’s the basic classic stretch are perfect. Although they may come pricey they are surely worth the investment. No matter how many times you wash and wear them, they never lose their fit. A wise woman once told me, there are two things women should never go cheap on, and that is shoes and jeans!!

I love, love Citizens of Humanity ‘Tallulah’ trouser jean. Darts in the back=no gapping at the back waist. These just have an all around great fit with the perfect amount of stretch. Also, I can’t live without my straight leg jeans that I got from the Gap. They do sit a bit low, but overall they have a very slimming effect. I always get compliments when I wear them!

I’m a shortie so I have to wear jeans that “elongate”! My favorite jean brands are Diesel and Seven For All Man Kind.
