flarenrichie.jpg Has the age of the Skinny Jean finally run it’s course? With this season’s Bohemian inspired chic all the rage, it should be no surprise that an influx of denim trousers and flare legged replacements would begin to seep into the jean pool. Seemingly a trend, we’ve watched the skinny jean become the norm. But are fashionistas prepared to shelve their beloved skinnies to opt for a pair of flares? Their virtual opposite? The transition seems almost foreign just as we’d started fully appreciating the benefits of wearing the slim legged cut. Namely the fact that you can see our shoes! Yet there are some pros to this report. Effortless to wear over your sexiest high heeled tall boots and a lot more comfortable than rockstar when worn with a pair of everyday trainers.

As in all things fashion, change is predictable.

  • Ladies, I have to agree with you. I’ll admit I’m loving Nicole in them but, I’m a die hard skinny jeans girl at heart. Trends come and go and I can assure you that this trend is definitely trying to garner some attention and get us out of our skinnies. So, hey if you see a pair you like, give em a shot.

  • Tenielle, I agree wide jean has been popping on alot lately, but I too love skinnies, I hope they both are around for a long time. Skinny is instant chic :)

    Great trend watch piece!

  • Yeah, well, I’m fat, so skinny jeans… not so much.

I just bought a new pair of skinny fit and a high-waisted wide leg..skinny is here to stay (I vote skinny), but depending on your height and shape, wides may work…ladies, just wear what looks and works best for your body type!

I’m a plus size woman and I enjoy all styles of jeans. I love skinny jeans because they look good with the boho tops. Wide legs jeans look good with your tighter fitting tops and blazers. I even have trouser style jeans and I do have a pair of flare jeans too. I vote for them all. You just have to know how to wear them for your size and shape.
