Michael Vick is hoping to play the reality game. The incarcerated NFL star has talked to producers about launching an unscripted program. The proposed documentary series would follow Vick beginning July 20, the day of his scheduled release from federal custody, and show him trying to “make amends for his past.” Sources said eager producers even visited the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback in prison in the hope of signing him. As a result, a few parties claim to have obtained rights to a Vick project. Vick is serving a 23-month sentence for dogfighting conspiracy. His attorneys did not return a call for comment, but they told a judge this month at a bankruptcy hearing that Vick has agreed to a “television documentary deal” that will pay him $600,000. Somali Pirates Attack Second US Vessel
The pirates damaged the Liberty Sun, which was carrying a cargo of food aid, but were not able to board it. The ship asked for assistance from the American warship involved in the rescue of a US captain seized last week. Pirates have vowed to avenge the deaths of those killed in recent rescue operations by US and French forces. BBC security correspondent Rob Watson says the latest attack shows that pirates have not been deterred by military operations. Despite renewed US calls to quell piracy, four more vessels have been successfully seized over the past two days. Abu-Jamal Supporters Seek White House Help
Supporters of internationally known Philadelphia cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal say they want help from the White House. The U.S. Supreme Court last week denied a new trial for Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther convicted of murdering Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday. His supporters are circulating petitions urging U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. to intervene. Supporters said they will also ask U.S. Rep.
