After much anticipation, the trailer for Tyler Perry’s film adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 stage play, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, is here. The film shorted to “For Colored Girls” premieres November 5.

Posters for each starring lead cast member have also been released. Here we show the poster of actress Anika Noni Rose who plays Yasmine.

The trailer featuring a rendition of Nina Simone’s “Four Women” reveals quick snippets of stirring performances by Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, Thandie Newton among others.

It appears that the film’s script stays true to the original play, as anyone who is remotely familiar with the play will hear classic lines like Janet Jackson reciting “I got sorry greeting me at the front door. You can keep yours.”

Umm . . . looks like the trailer may shush our earlier doubts. What do you think? Sound off!

To all the black entertainer KEEP UP THAT GOOD WORK!!

As for BET… it must be SHUT DOWN! BET does nothing for the cause. They should drop the B and just leave ET Entertainment tonight. BET sucks… Their all about promoting dumb ass rappers who drop out of pre-K! so sick of it. BET doesn’t have a NEWS portion. Just sad.

As a feminist, I do not trust Tyler Perry to stay on-message with this play. The trailer looks good, and I think the actresses will perform with all the amazing ability they have, but I just do not see the depth in TP’s body of work in regards to women’s issues.

There is truly no trust in the black communities. You guys tear each other apart, it sad to see and hear. Hun, learn to love and trust yourself then maybe you’ll trust others. You’ve been hurt before huh??

I have not missed a single play or movie by TP but this I believe is going to put him in a class all it by himself. The entire cast has star quality and riveting emotions!! I can’t hardly contain myself in anticipation for this movie. I had to go back and read the book just to make sure I had a refreshing and to prepare myself mentally for the production. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt this is going to be an amazing, breathtaking, heartwrenching movie. If it is God’s will, I pray this will give you an Oscar, Academy or some kind of top notch accolade. God Bless you and I love you so very much!!
