Lawrence Fishburne and Sanaa Lathan will be a part of an ensemble cast in “Contagion,” a new Warner Bros’ film, reports Variety.

Production is currently underway in Chicago.

The drama is about a deadly virus that threatens the human population and prompting groups around the world to work to contain the epidemic. According to reports, Lathan will play the wife of Fishburne’s character, a doctor who sparks pandemonium around the country when the word gets out after he tells his wife.

“Contagion” is written by Scott Burns and produced by Steven Soderbergh. Stacey Sher, Greg Jacobs and Michael Shamberg. The stellar cast includes Matt Damon, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

We’re super happy for Sanaa! The gorgeous starlet last appeared in the HBO pilot “Tilda” alongside Diane Keaton. Lathan recently concluded her stage performance in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She previously starred in “The Cleveland Show,” and “A Raisin in the Sun.”

I don’t understand the plot. I love Matt Damon and Kate Winslet so I am interested. I’m just happy Sanaa is working. Her talent is really being wasted on “Cleveland Show”.

  • Love her! Can’t wait for the movie to come out.

I love Sanaa and look forward any new projects she’s in!

So happy for her. We need to see our real classically trained actors in movies and not a rapper/singer. I Cannot wait to see it and her.

What a stellar cast. Good for her.
