It’s official, Jennifer Hudson is having the best year ever. From dropping an astonishing 80 pounds, to becoming the pitch woman for Weight Watchers, to releasing her sophomore album, preparing to get married, and starring in the Winnie Mandela biopic, J-Hud has the industry buzzing.
Last Friday she sat down with Deborah Roberts to discuss her journey from the rough and tumble streets of South Side of Chicago to Hollywood insider. During the interview Hudson discussed how she felt after she was voted off of American Idol, tragically lost her mother, brother, and nephew, and bounced back to keep pursuing her dreams despite it all.
What I love most about Jenner is not her voice, but her ability to bounce back after adversity. If nothing else, Hudson’s story can teach us all a thing or two about picking ourselves up after a setback and still accomplishing our goals.
