It’s been years since she left public office, but Condoleezza Rice seems to be shining more and more in the public eye. And according to latest reports, she will be getting primetime billing in the weeks to come.

According to POLITICO, Condoleeza Rice will be making an appearance on NBC’s hit show 30 Rock playing an ex-girlfriend of Alec Baldwin’s character, network executive Jack Donaghy.  The cameo will blend in with a latent storyline on the show since the first season when Jack claimed he was dating “high-ranking African-American member of the Bush Administration.”

Fey spilled the beans about Condi’ upcoming cameo during a promotional appearance for her memoir, “Bossypants.” Speaking at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C., Fey addressed any rumors that Fey herself would enter the political arena? Said the star:

“No way, that’s for suckers.”

Even with 30 Rock’s success, Fey will perhaps always be remembered for her incredibly spot on impression of Sarah Palin. Looking back on the former Alaska governor’s first appearance on SNL, Fey said she did not expect the show’s audience to take well to the political star. She explained:

“I thought for sure she would get booed…I underestimated what a media star she was.”

As of now, there’s no set date for Condi’s appearance; Fey would only say that she would make an appearance before the season finale.

Since leaving Washington, Condi has been busy at work, currently serving as currently the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution and as at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. But she’s also showcases other sides of herself, showing her talents as a pianist, accompanying Aretha Franklin on the keys.  But will her acting chops be up to par?  Will she hit the comedic mark? It will be interesting to see how 30 Rock’s viewers will respond to Condi.
