With the advent of plastic surgery and age-defying beauty products, it is almost impossible to guess how old a woman is by just looking at her. The common phrase today is “40 is the new 30” and some of Hollywood’s leading celebrities are demonstrating just how true the statement is whether by natural means or the use of cosmetic enhancements.
It isn’t polite to state a woman’s age, but at 41, Jennifer Lopez is defying all the odds of getting older, landing more advertising campaigns now than she had all through her 20’s and 30’s. She is always one to choose an ensemble of the form-fitting persuasion and yesterday at a promotional event in Los Angeles to launch the BlackBerry PlayBook as well as her new single “Papi” from her upcoming album, she decided to bare it all: her stomach that is.
Jennifer Lopez is in fantastic shape and if you have it, you should flaunt it, but I couldn’t help thinking that the ensemble was better suited for younger stars like Rihanna or Ciara. It was in line with her risk-taking looks and was definitely sexy, but did it go too far?
Is a woman ever too old to bare her midriff? Should women over 40 be leaning on the side of sophistication and elegance? Are they free to show skin as long as it looks good?
