Promising designer, Shavonne DeAnn, recently debuted her Spring/Summer line at Always by Design gallery in Philadelphia. Shavonne was featured in Coco and Crème a few months back after she made headlines for crashing New York fashion week and showcasing her line outside of the Lincoln Center. Declaring “I’m Shavonne DeAnn and this is my runway!” the stunt garnered the attention of June Ambrose and soon after Angela Simmons tweeted a picture of herself in a one of Shavonne’s signature knitted dresses from her debut line. And now with the launch of her new collection, we are happy to see the promising, young designer continue to soar.
Feminine and youthful with a touch of glamour, Shavonne described her Spring/Summer line as Safari meets Tribal. It featured crop tops, dresses, high-waisted skirts and hot pants in cheetah and tribal prints juxtaposed with vibrant neon colors. The ambitious designer had been working hard for months to complete her latest pieces. She raised $3,500 via Kickstarter by reaching out to friends and family for support of the line she is producing on her own. On the night of her fashion show, Shavonne also celebrated the launch of her online store: shavonnedeann.com.
An artsy occasion, the fashion show brought out various fashion bloggers, stylists and photographers, and the models stood shifting in different poses as moving art. Check out some pictures from the show and the video promo for the Shvonne DeAnn Spring/Summer collection.
