While people may have differing opinions on Beyonce, on thing no one can question is the woman’s work ethic. And the stars drive for perfection was on full display yesterday when she took the stage of Oprah’s grand farewell.

As part of a two-day Farewell Extravaganza, Beyonce was at Chicago’s United Way Arena to perform her hit “(Girls) Who Run The World” in front of the sold-out crowd. With her hubby Jay-Z in the front row and rocking a tuxedo leotard, Bey belted and danced her way through a high energy set setting the crowd on fire.

However, according to reports, the singer didn’t feel her performance on tape was where she wanted it to be the first time and requested to try it one more time to get a better take.

Bey was in the house along with a slew of other A-listers who came to bid Oprah farewell. From the peeks we’ve seen thus far, everyone from Halle, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Will and Jada to Maya Angelou and Dakota Fanning will be a part of the farewell special.

Mega star, Madonna, who was also on hand, took a few moments to pay her tributes to Oprah.

“It’s no secret millions of people are inspired by Oprah. I am one of those people. She’s a self made woman who has been at the top of her game for 25 years and she is still kicking a–, encouraging people to dream big, work hard, to read a book, get an education, ask questions – no matter who you are or where you come from. She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular. She has balls and a wealth of compassion. I’ve learned so much from her.”

I cannot wait to see this special. It is sizing up to be the farewell of a lifetime!

  • I was there at the grand farewell party. honestly she did a perfectly fine job. the audience had finger lights that were supposed to come on the slow part of the song and they didn’t time it right so…that’s why she redid it. great performance both times. bad song…both times.
