According to Page Six, Jay-Z and Kanye West a ramping up their work schedule to get their upcoming collaboration album done. The two have been readying the much anticipated, “Watch The Throne” for release and according to sources, there is no more time for play.

Moving from their studio at Mercer Hotel to one at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, the two rappers were working on tracks from Wednesday night until 7 A.M. Thursday morning.

The artists went downstairs for a short break with Universal honcho Barry Weiss, Kid Cudi and staff from the label. “They were laying down tons of tracks,” a witness said. “It was intense — no Beyoncé and no booze.”

Jay has said that working on the album has been an incredibly creative process, saying Kanye is at his best. Speaking to the magazine, Delta Sky, Jay said:

“Before success, there weren’t interviews or photo shoots.  Now it’s a big thing to get in the studio. It’s like a process just to get there. And once I’m there, I have to dial into an emotion.”

It’s good to hear that the two are close to finishing the project. After “H.A.M” grew on me, I have to admit, I am definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of what Jay and Ye have in store.

Hearing about Jay-Z and Kanye buckling down to finish their collaboration, reminds me of my girlfriend, who in college would sit in the microfilm section of our library where no one would think to find her.
