Showing of her beauty in pretty prints and flowing dresses, Rihanna graced the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine. In the July issue of the glossy, the pop star showed less skin than she had in previous cover appearances but she also revealed some surprising little known facts about her self and her outlook on love and life.

Rihanna, who has been linked to several other high-profile stars in the past year, says that she has been shying away from dating lately. In her interview with Cosmo, she shares:

It can definitely be intimidating to guys to date someone in the industry. And it’s really hard to find a guy who doesn’t care about that stuff. Right now, it’s easier to just having my career to focus on.”

Her focus on her career has certainly been paying off. Just last week, Rihanna cleaned up at the 2011 Billboard Awards taking home several awards including the big prizes of Radio Artist of the Year and Top Female Artist of the Year. However, Rihanna while it takes hard work to going full throttle at her career, the singer says her biggest challenge is still learning to open up in her personal life:

It’s something that I’m working on. Melissa always says to me, ‘You need to let your guard down.’ Because even if a guy texts me or says something slick, I would never entertain it. I think, “that’s bullshit. Its just an act.’ And Melissa’s like, You’re crazy. Let your guard down.” But I will. It’s going to happen.

Still, Rihanna says she isn’t looking to settle down just yet. Admitting in her pop quiz that she is terrified of childbirth and baby weight, Rihanna says right now she is looking for someone who can keep her interest and make her laugh:

I’m turned on to a guy by different things. It could be the way he looks. It could be his intelligence. Its really a spontaneous thing. I’m open to love but guys should have to earn it because the minute they get it, they want something else. Men are like hunters; they like the chase. So you have to keep them guessing.
Actually, I’m like that too. I get bored very quickly. So if someone can make me laugh, that’s the best.

    No trope left unturned…..

This girl is a contrived, talentless, mess. Oh well, white folks have Britney, so I guess black people need a pop tramp too. Next!

  • I can’t say I was particularly impressed. I’m not a fan of Rhianna’s, and her answers don’t seem atypical for her job. It’s probably why a lot of celebs date one another because they understand the demands of their jobs – including all the fame.

I love the caption “Worth the weight?” next to the baby’s photo. It is so wrong LOLs

I find Rihanna a breath of fresh air. It never ceases to amaze me that she isn’t subjected to the virgin/whore dichotomy that plagues black female celebrities, and her owning of her body and her sexuality is inspiring to me.
