H&M has just announced news of its new designer collaboration and it is with none other than world-renowned luxury brand Versace. Donatella Versace debuted a look from the collection at the brand’s Spring 2012 Men’s Show in Milan this week.
The name Versace is iconic, synonymous with sensuality and bold design. Donatella is a legend like Gianni before her and though the brand sticks to its DNA, she has no problem branching out into new avenues and that is why she continues to stay at the forefront of the fashion pack. To think that everyone will be able to have a taste of Versace glamour is amazing and when the collection debuts on November 17th, it will be a frenzy in stores all around the globe.
Leather (as Donatella demonstrates above), Versace’s signature prints and form-fitting silhouettes will be present in the collection’s pieces and as you can see from the left, she really took a hands-on approach to the designs, making sure that the fit was absolutely perfect. Women will not be the only people catered to as the collection also features pieces for men as well as home. You can also mark your calendars for January 19, 2012, when Donatella’s Pre-Spring collection for H&M will be released online. Something else for all of us fashionistas to look forward to.
The main question is whether or not the H&M collection will be as good as actual Versace. Lanvin for H&M was surprisingly great, matching up to the real thing in fabric, silhouette and durability. Matthew Williamson for H&M was also a great match. Previews will no doubt be occurring sometime in September or even earlier, thus we will keep you posted on the details. We can also expect a slew of celebrities to be wearing the pieces before they debut.
