You can’t talk about the relationship between fashion and entertainment without mentioning icons like Michael Jackson and Diana Ross who were groundbreaking and influential in music and style.

W Magazine honors such artists with their “The Hit Parade” tribute. The spread, styled by George Cortina, features Puerto Rican model, Joan Smalls, dressed up as some of our most beloved legends including Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Prince and Tupac.

I think she’s right about Diana Ross and fashion. Many of these young hip-hopers don’t give Ross the credit she deserve. It as Ross who was pushing the fashion evelope in the 70s & 80s.Diana invented the panty-hose and stockings in one.Micheal also, was a fashion originator with the jacket & glove. It’s amazing that many hip-hopers turned to fashion as soon as they blew up. Give Diana the credit.
