Kelly Rowland has been charming us since her days with Destiny’s Child and though she’s made a great name for herself, her fame hasn’t reached the heights of her childhood friend and ex-group mate, Beyoncé. It seems that things are taking a turn of late, with Kelly’s new smash single “Motivation” sitting atop the Billboard Hip Hop and R&B chart as well as her announcement as the new judge for X Factor UK.
Kelly has long been a rolemodel for black women as well as an inspiration for style, beauty and health. She has always been in the best of shape, bringing her lyric, “I keep my figure right” from the song “Cater 2 U” to life. She has amazing skin and always opts for feminine makeup, never trying too hard and letting her natural beauty shine through.
Fashion has never been a problem for Kelly and she has been seen in the most luxurious pieces as well as sitting front row for shows including Roberto Cavalli, BCBGMaxAzria, Eva Minge and many more. She was at the 2011 X Factor auditions in a neon yellow sheer lace crop top, a high-waisted black skirt and Christian Louboutin Lady Daf Mary Janes. If this is a sign of ensembles to come, watching the show this season will be a treat.
If this new role is anything like the appointment of Jennifer Lopez as an American Idol judge, then Kelly is in for an upward move. Jennifer landed a slew of endorsement deals as the face of Gucci’s children’s collection, Gillette Venus, Tous, L’Oréal Paris and there are surely more to come. Hopefully, Kelly shares the same kind of success and is finally able to garner the fame and recognition that has long been awaiting her.
What do you think of Kelly Rowland’s new role as a judge for X Factor UK? Is she finally getting her turn in the spotlight?
