While this old adage is very true, worrying about things we cannot control—our height, eye color, skin tone, family members, for example—is not only frustrating, but it can also be extremely counterproductive. But despite being out of our control, many of us obsess over things we absolutely hate about ourselves.
Negative self-talk is not only a mind and a mood killer, but it can also distract us from the things we can actually do something about.
So in the spirit of summer, which is often a time for renewal and recommitting to good habits, let’s focus on some of the things we can change.
