After winning over television audiences out the gate, Laz Alonso earned a win of his own yesterday.

A&E has confirmed that ‘Breakout Kings’ will return as part of its line up next season. The crime dramedy, which centers on a team of ex-cons and U.S. Marshals searching for prison escapees, had a successful first season, maintaining strong ratings throughout. ‘Kings’ impressive debut brought in 2.8 million total viewers for A&E.

It’s been a good year for Laz, who starred in the big screen hit ‘Jumping The Broom’ earlier this year.

A&E has yet to set an exact date for the season premier of ‘Breakout Kings’ but creators Nick Santora and Matt Olmstead say the show will return to the network in 2012.
